A quality-nursing curriculum is a formal plan of nursing study that provides the philosophical underpinnings, goals and guidelines for the delivery of the nursing educational program. It is systematic and contain intended package of nursing competencies (knowledge, Skills, and attitudes that underpinned by values) that the learners should acquire through organized theoretical and clinical learning experiences to prepare nurses that best meet the health needs of people.
Supporting the National Health Strategy 2021 -2030, Vanuatu College of Nursing Education Advance Diploma of Nursing Curriculum, thus, was developed and designed, specifically to prepare nurses to possess unique set of nursing skills and qualities of a general nurse that would meet the growing health needs and the shortage of nurse in the country. As the way forward, this program will assist to address the issues by fully equipping the nurses with the relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes about wellness, illness, community rehabilitation, and Health mobilization, becoming a significant part of the health care system that is responsive, effective, affordable, acceptable and accessible to the majority of the people in Vanuatu. These challenges include empowering individuals, families and communities to take responsible for their own health and to become involved at all government levels and with other partners, in working together to a Healthy Vanuatu.
